Ian’s Friends Foundation (IFF) continues to lead a relentless fight against pediatric brain tumors and is committed to supporting innovative research in search of a cure. In 2015, we succeeded in this effort with 3 new projects:

1) Partnering with Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorder Center to help treat pediatric low-grade gliomas,
2) Expanding the brain tumor biorepository at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta to now also examine stem cells,
3) Working with Georgia Tech on developing a tumor targeting vaccine

But we cannot stop there. Our goal in 2016 is to continue IFF’s relentless pursuit of a cure. IFF will continue to work with professors like Dr. Ravi Bellamkonda, Wallace H. Coulter School Chair in Biomedical Engineering at Georgia Tech and Emory, and his work creating delineations of tumor margins for resection during surgery.

“Our results…reveal a new strategy for treating brain cancer and could improve clinical outcomes”
Dr. Ravi Bellamkonda

We will work closely with our current research partners to continue our aggressive pursuit of the best treatment options, protocols and promising research for pediatric brain tumors. Check our blog frequently as we update you on our progress. In the meantime, we wish you a Happy New Year and all the best for you and your family.
